23rd European Industrial Cybersecurity International Congress - 25th & 26th of September 2024 - Barcelona

25 y 26 de septiembre de 2024

As a fundamental part of its activity, the Industrial Cybersecurity Center (CCI) has hold its 23rd European Industrial Cybersecurity International Congress 2024 – Barcelona (Spain) on the 25th and 26th of September at (9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. CEST), at the Alimara hotel, being one of the reference events for the European market, and a meeting point and exchange of knowledge, experiences and relationships of all the actors involved in this field.

The focus of the conference has been practical, based on real application cases and lessons learned managing risk in the digital industry. Likewise, it has allowed OT and IT professionals, industrial manufacturers, cybersecurity, engineers, consultants, integrators, end users and operators of critical infrastructures to share knowledge and experiences about the different perceptions of the reality that Industrial Cybersecurity is today.

    José Valiente is Director and Head of Coordination and Communication of the Industrial Cybersecurity Center. Specialist in Technology and Security consulting. He has more than 20 years of experience working in large consulting firms, where he has developed his professional career both in the field of information technologies and in the industrial automation sector. He has participated in dozens of publications on industrial cybersecurity, as well as multiple conferences, events and courses specialized in cybersecurity. It currently has multiple certifications in security and IT manufacturer solutions, as well as the CISM professional certifications from ISACA and Global Industrial Cyber ​​Security Professional (GICSP) from GIAC.

    Susana Asensio is a Member of the Board of Directors, Director of the Industrial Cybersecurity Professional School, and Project Manager at the Industrial Cybersecurity Center. Graduated in Software Engineering, and Technical Engineer in Management Informatics, both from the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM), Susana is a specialist in research and development projects in security and technology. He has a postgraduate degree as a Specialist in Promotion and Management of International R&D&I Projects and Actions from the UPM. After working as a researcher in Information Technology (IT) at the UPM, she has been, in recent years, and prior to joining CCI, combining the management of IT security projects, and the coordination of various IT security groups. in the Multisector Association of Electronics, Information and Communication Technologies, Telecommunications and Digital Content Companies (AMETIC).

    He has worked on national and international projects related to digital identity, digital certification services, data protection, cloud and critical infrastructures.

    Susana has coordinated and promoted specialized IT services forums, although her greatest previous dedication has been for the AMETIC Information Security Commission, with a wide representation of the Spanish Cybersecurity Industry (more than 70 companies), covering areas such as digital identity, digital certification service providers, critical infrastructures, and industrial cybersecurity, among others.

    Since joining CCI in 2014, he has focused his career on cybersecurity applied to industry, regularly speaking at conferences, seminars and courses on industrial cybersecurity.

    Lars Erik Smevold is a security and process control architect with more than 27 years of experience in industrial control systems (ICS), telecommunications and security: critical infrastructure.

    Lars Erik started at Norsk Hydro in 1997, since then he has been working in utilities, built Security Operations Centers in ICS for Small and Medium Enterprises, then 6.5 years at Norwegian Energy Sector and Control System CERT (KraftCERT) and now in Statkraft: global energy production.

    In addition to working as a security and process control architect and expert advisor on ICS/OT Cybersecurity: Critical Infrastructure, Lars Erik is an internationally recognized speaker at ICS/OT Cybersecurity conferences. Communication is one of the most important issues in critical infrastructure. Strategic, operational and technical communication is one of Lars Erik’s specialties after working in different roles as R&D leader, CEO, incident manager, incident lead and practical engineer.

    Marco Di Costanzo is a computer engineer specializing in security automation engineering. An expert in cybersecurity of industrial control systems, in the past he worked at the Oil&Gas company as a threat intelligence analyst, in addition to working at one of the most important Italian cybersecurity companies as a threat researcher.

    Today, he has almost a decade of experience studying malware, attack tactics, techniques and procedures of cybercriminals and APT groups around the world.

    Currently, he works as a security researcher focused on cyber threat attacks targeting industrial organizations, OT and IT systems in Kaspersky’s ICS CERT team. He is also a board member of the Cyber ​​Strategy Initiative, a multidisciplinary and diverse community for the next generation of cybersecurity professionals.

    Edorta Echave is a Higher Technician in Computer Systems and Telecommunications and a “Specialist in Network Design and Security” from the Public University of the Basque Country. He has directed his professional career around communications infrastructures, achieving certifications such as CCNA and ITIL.

    He joined the Industrial Cybersecurity Center in 2014 as an “Active Member” after passing the course “Advanced Cybersecurity Course in Industrial Control and Automation Systems” taught by INCIBE, becoming Coordinator for the Basque Country some time later, a member of the expert teams and professor from the CCI Professional School.
